Inventing Room has opened up their newest branch in one of the most beautiful locations ever – La Mer (Jumeira 1). They are known for their interesting and creative desserts, snacks and drink with a twist of nitrogen.

Ambiance: Like I said, this branch is located in one of the most beautiful places ever. La Mer is home to numerous restaurants, cafes and dessert parlours and yet Inventing Room easily stands out. (ps. It is located right opposite the cinemas.) The place is well lit and has a few seating options inside. It is not cluttered at all and I felt it was extremely hygienic when the staff was creating our desserts.

Service: There was just a single staff member present in the cafe and he was extremely sweet. He definitely was a big help to us when it came to choosing our desserts and drinks.

What we had;

The Ultimate Lotus Sundae [20 – 35AED]: I absolutely LOVE lotus so this was a fun treat for me. The ice cream was super creamy and was covered with lotus crumble. It came along side a delicious cone and I absolutely loved the presentation. He then drizzled it with some chocolate sauce and topped it with some whipped cream but in a dried deconstructed form. Which by the way was new in texture but delicious none the less.

Red Velvet Sandwich [20-35AED]: This had two red velvet cookies sandwiching a yummy scoop of cheesecake ice cream. Which we however wanted to change to nutella ice cream. This was again very delicious drizzled with some chocolate sauce on top and ice cream coated with some graham crackers. The cookie was not the best kind? But it was something you could work with. 🙂

Frozen Hot Chocolate [20 – 30AED]: This was a chocolate frappe served with some burnt marshmallow fluff and topped with exploding whipped cream. The drink was SO good! Extremely rich in chocolate and perfectly made. The marshmallow fluff was a nice touch to the drink. It did get a bit too heavy after a point but we enjoyed it to the fullest. The exploding whipped cream was not a joke 😛 – it really was topped with whipped cream which was popping and exploding in our drink.

Lotus Milkshake [20 – 30AED]:  This was my absolute favourite last night. The lotus milkshake was absolutely mouth watering. Not too sweet and in the perfect consistency. I would definitely go here for some more of this. If you are a fan of lotus, you must try this drink out.

Spicy Cheese Balls [15 – 20AED]: These were the famous dragon breath spicy cheese balls. They also have them in the really, really cold cheetos variant. Though I wonder how one could have those since I already got some cold burns on my tongue with these cheese balls. 😛 A very interesting concept – I loved how I was getting the dragon breath out of my mouth every time I popped one of these in my mouth. Felt like a little kid again.

Final Thoughts: A very interesting concept and some really delectable dessert options. I loved how the staff member there was explaining every step and was guiding us through the menu. I would definitely pop in for a visit again soon.
