This place has been on the maps for around 9 to 10 years now?! WHAT?! Honestly, I had never heard of this place before but do I regret not going here earlier? Read up.
Ambiance: The second you place your first step into the restaurant, you are transported to an extremely cute cafe/ pizzeria in Italy. No jokes. The place is so beautifully done. Every piece of art, furniture, decor has so much detail and thought put into it. It is extremely apt for date night as well.
Service: John, our server was extremely efficient and served us food on time. The food does take a bit to prepare – for instance our dessert took about 15 minutes to be served on the table. This is because they prepare food just when you order. They do not have anything prepared before hand.
Price: 200AED approx for two.
What we had;
Passion Fruit Mojito [22AED]: They provide you with extra sugar syrup for you to have it according to your liking. Firstly, damn. The mojito comes in this huge glass and lasted us the whole meal. The passion fruit seeds midst sipping the mojito was just too good. I personally loved this drink and would recommend to you guys.
Bruschetta al Pesto [28AED]: This was your usual baked bread with yummy pesto sauce smeared over it and topped with loads of Italian mozzarella. I am crazy over pesto – pesto pizza, pesto and bread.. anything. Yes, the pesto bruschetta was a little too bland for me personally; but I quite enjoyed eating these.
Alfredo al Polo e Funghi [57AED]: Your usual BUT delicious Alfredo pasta with generous topping of chicken and mushrooms. The portion size was good to be shared between 2 people. You can choose the kind of pasta you want it in – we opted for the penne. The sauce was creamy and absolutely delectable.
Pickle Labneh and Falafel Pizza [48AED]: Yes, you heard me right. Living in UAE, I was so not surprised by this one on the menu. It was a regular pizza with home made Labneh sauce, Italian Mozzarella, Mediterranean pickles and crispy falafel to top it off. Honestly at first, I found it to be a little out of place but that changed soon enough. The crispy falafel and the pickles were the best part of it. You gotta try it. It is quite filling as well.
Buffalo Pizza [48AED]: This was another from the chef’s special. The pizza looked so pretty with the orange dressing. The dressing was of buffalo cream sauce. It was topped with some bits of grilled chicken and mozzarella. I really loved this pizza. It was quite tangy yet sweet. Would recommend this.
The Black Lava [38AED]: Warning: I am not a big fan of dark chocolate. AT ALL. So when I say I did not like this dessert much it is solely because of that. The cake was made from 70% dark chocolate and when cracked open, it oozed out some molten ganache. It was topped with some salted caramel roasted nuts. It was served with a scoop of ice cream and served HOT! My bad, I did not read the description and jumped to get this dessert. Apart from the dark chocolate mishap – the dessert was really good. The ganache was super rich and tasted so good with the ice cream.
Final Verdict: I mean, you HAVE to visit this place. I am in absolute love for this place. The food is quite delicious and the ambiance is just too beautiful. They place is quite compact but they have some outdoor seatings as well.
