Bloggers Meet

So recently I was invited for a Bloggers meet to try out Vintage Room and I must say I was in complete awe of their interiors and ambiance. Located in the heart of Jumeirah, read ahead to know my in depth review of the Vintage Room.

Ambiance: With hints of gold and an arabic touch, Vintage room is a fine dining place serving Indian and Italian cuisines. Stepping into the restaurant, you are blown away with their beautiful decor and intimate seatings. They have sofa arrangements as well. The restaurant is relatively smaller than I had imagined but super spacious anyways.

Service: The staff is very courteous and on top of everything. They cater to your needs and are ever ready to help you out.

Price: Approx 300 for two people. Pricing is quite good and not at all exorbitant.

What we had;

We had a menu set for our meet.

For drinks we got to try Spice Bomb [25AED] : this drink was made with lemon juice, sprite, apple cider and green chilies. The drink was perfect, the sprite and slight spiciness went extremely well with each other. Also, we had the Rising Strawberry [25AED]: which was a mix of strawberry and orange juice with a little bit of lime. This did not manage to wow me at all.

Dahi kebabs [40AED]: Fried hung yogurt kebabs with onion and ginger. These were delicious – crunchy on the outside and gooey on the inside. The yogurt gave this dish a tangy and sweet flavour. Not sure if everyone will like this, but it is surely an interesting mix of flavours.

Murg Malai Tikka [50AED]: Chicken coated with cream cheese marinade. This was really delicious, but super heavy! The chicken was soft and extremely flavourful and well coated with the marinade.

Potato Al Arrabbiata [25AED]: So this was from the Italian menu. Cubes of potatoes cooked in arrabbiata sauce and rosemary leaves. This was one of the most delicious things I had that night. The potatoes were served hot and crunchy! They were super spicy and tangy at the same time. You have to give this funky dish a try.

For main course;

Vegetarian Pizza [50AED]: This was a huge pizza enough to satisfy two to three people. The outer crush was really dry and doughy for my liking but the pizza in itself was quite delicious with various veggies and plenty cheese on top.

Penne in Pink Sauce: The penne pasta was well cooked in this delicious pink sauce pasta. The sauce was creamy while having a hint of tanginess. The portion size was quite good for two people. Between the pizza and the pasta, the pasta definitely stole my heart with their amazing pink sauce.

Fish Moilee [80AED]: Fish simmered in coconut, ginger and curry leaves. This yellow coloured fish curry was absolutely mouth water. It was super rich in coconut flavours and we loved  along side some zeera rice. The fish pieces were soft and melted in our mouths. Definitely a must try. However, I do wish the curry was a little thick and not so runny.

Bhutta Methi Palak [55AED]: Fenugreek, corn and spinach stir fried with garlic and chillies. This vegetable did not really stand out for me. This did not stand up well against the Italian main course or even the fish moliee. It lacked the basic masalas and flavours.

Daal tadka [30AED]: This was your very generic yet super yummy yellow lentil. Paired very well with some zeera rice. I liked the fact that it was not too spicy or over the top. Tasted like it was made at home.

For dessert,

Red Velvet Kulfi [25AED]: The presentation of this dessert was as good as the taste. I absolutely love kulfi in itself but with a hint of red velvet crumbles, the kulfi tasted so good! Completely loved the end to the entire evening.

Final Thoughts: Vintage room may not serve outstanding food but if you pick well, quite a few of their dishes are quite amazing. You should give this restaurant a try if you are ever in the vicinity and looking for something Indian or Italian to try! ❤
