“Part of the secret of success in life is to eat what you like and let the food fight it out inside.” ― Mark Twain

Situated in Karama, this place is something you wont miss. Saleem’s of Delhi and Pind da Dhaba have the same entrance – just that Pind da Dhaba is on the second floor. So when we entered. We we were actually pleasantly surprised with the theme and decor of Saleem’s of Delhi and contemplated on which one do we go to. We picked Pind Da Dhaba as we also had made reservations for there for Diwali.

Due to low lighting the pictures can not do any justice to the amazing theme and ambience of the place. I absolutely loved it! Made me super excited for the evening to follow. The on point presentation of the restaurant, the food stalls and the rickshaw tables, quirky wall decor and hindi movie posters and punjabi music being played on the speakers gave us a feeling as though we were transported to Punjab for real.

What we had;

We were first given some green salad and papads with an assortment of chutneys and pickles.

Makki De Kebab [26AED]: This is when I knew I’m going to fall in love with this restaurant. These were deep fried corn cutlets and they were amazing! Freshly made, they came to our table quick. Served with green chutney, these were crunchy and made to perfection. [4.7/5]

Murg Malai Tikka [32AED]: This dish had plenty of pieces of chicken and was cooked well. I love my Butter Chicken to be a little sweet and it was a little sweet and spicy at the same time. The curry was thick and went well with butter garlic naan. [4.5/5]

Dal Makhni [25AED]: The way to get this dal on point is when you cook it overnight and just keep cooking it. It then brings that beautiful texture and a delicious taste to the dal which if cooked like for example yellow moong or rajma is not the same. I loved the dal and was a decent quantity for 3 people. Loved this dal with some white rice and or pudina parantha. [4.5/5]

Vegetable Zalfreji [28AED]: These were basically mixed veggies tossed in some tomato gravy and cooked in it. Because of tomato being its main base, the dish was a little sweet, good none the less. Everyone seemed to have liked it a lot as it was finished real soon. [4.3/5]

Naans and Rice: We have some white rice [16AED] and various naans like butter garlic naan, pudina parantha, Kulchas etc. which ranged from [3AED to 14AED] The naans were made fresh and were hot and well made. My favourite was Pudina Parantha with Butter Chicken

Tila Kulfi [12AED]By the end of that we were full beyond words but who skips on an opportunity to indulge in some cold malai kulfi on the stick? It was a very regular kulfi and got the meal to the perfect end. [4.5/5]

All in all, I loved this place and will keep visiting with every opportunity I get. I have recommended this place to my friends as well. The service was great and the server gave special attention to us as we were from the same place back in India.
